Hello Greater Saint Louis Chapter (and guests)!

We're refreshed from another excellent Golf Classic yesterday at Forest Park - can't say enough Thank Yous to the Sponsors and chapter Volunteers and PLAYERS who make it happen. We'll post pictures and results (as soon as I figure out how to work this website a little better).

Coming up Wednesday 530pm at The Resource Center is our first program of the 2023-24 season, "THE WHO, HOW, AND WHY OF BUILDING CODES" We hope to see as many of you as possible at TRC in-next week. Registration on our new system looks like it is working pretty well.

I've been working on the best way to handle hybrid meetings this season and for this meeting I'm using the most basic event tools which allow me to add a virtual link to the event page. I've just added one and the system should have sent you an update showing the event with the new Zoom information (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85899928316). TRC's sponsor O'Connor & Associates is going to provide delicious food for us Wednesday though, so if at all possible please join us in-person. If for some reason you cannot, then the link is there for you but please let us know so that we can adjust our headcount before we order food.

Can't wait to see you all. Please feel free to use this new discussion thread to post questions and comments about the program before during and afterwards. This will be a great feature for members to take advantage of to post and share follow-up information.

    -Michael

Our program committee has been busy over the summer preparing not only for our first chapter meeting for 2023-24, "THE WHO, HOW, AND WHY OF BUILDING CODES," but also for a full season of programs related to this year's topic, "Codes and Standards." As usual, we'll meet on the third Wednesday of the Month from September through May (except for December - stay tuned for info about the annual Holiday Celebration that month). Meetings start at 6:00 PM, but we open up at 5:30 for a social hour with food and drink - thanks to our generous sponsors. Our meetings are free again this year, and we will again be live-streaming as many of them as practicable.

Here's what's in store for the next three meetings:

October 18 - "Preserving Our Historic and Cultural Heritage" [Codes Session 2]
November 15 - "Codes for Cold-Formed Steel in Mid-Rise Buildings" [Codes Session 3]
    January 17 - "Economic Forecast 2024"

In February, we'll continue with Codes and Standards related topics. Follow us here for more information. In the mean time, hope to see you on September 27 either in person or via Zoom for our introduction to Building Codes.

To clarify, 530 pm doors are open here at The Resource Center. Program starts about 6pm. Feel free to mingle here or virtually for a bit and we'll start the show in about 30 minutes.
