Two long-term Greater St. Louis Chapter leaders attained Member Emeritus status this year, Russ Wick AIA, CSI, CCS, CDT, and J.C. Rearden AIA, CSI. Both are Chapter Past-Presidents who retired recently from long and distinguished careers as architects. CSI conveys Emeritus status to members who have served the organization with exceptional dedication and made significant contributions over an extended period as a way to honor and recognize their legacies of service and commitment to our mission and goals.
J. C. Rearden has been a member since 1979 and served our chapter as President from 1986 to 1987. For many years, he was Principal at Ittner Architects (now Cardogon Clark), the renowned St. Louis architectural firm founded by William B. Ittner, a pioneer in school planning and design. Since 2012, he has served on the State of Missouri Board For Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors & Professional Landscape Architects. As Architecture Division Chair, J.C. leads the board's efforts to protect the life, health, peace, and safety of the inhabitants of the state, and to protect their property from damage or destruction through dangerous, dishonest, incompetent, or unlawful architectural practice and generally to conserve the public welfare.
