    Posted 11 days ago

TOUR the Carboline Lab and Fire and Research Center and learn about selection of fire-resistive materials for complex steel structures at our May 22 program, "The Silent Barrier: Collaborative Steel Fire Protection Design & Specification." (1.0 AIA LU/HSW) We'll be meeting at the newly renovated (after the 2022 summer flood) Carboline Research, Development, & Innovation Center, 350 Hanley Industrial Ct,. St. Louis, MO 63144. Info and registration here: MAY TEST LAB TOUR

This program is presented and sponsored by St. Louis-based Carboline, a world leader in coatings, linings, and fireproofing solutions.

Early collaboration during design, optimization, and execution can help you produce project-specific deliverables that meet functional code objectives. Learning Objectives:

    • Understand the advantages and constraints of different fire-resistive material types for both in-situ and off-site application project scenarios.
    • Gain insights into planning and design considerations in selecting fire-resistive materials for complex steel structures and projects utilising lean construction or integrated project delivery approaches.
    • Be equipped with the knowledge to make informed decisions regarding selecting and applying fire-resistive materials to meet project-specific fire safety goals and requirements in the automotive, technology, and built environment segments.
    • Comprehensively understand the relationship between planning, design, optimisation, and execution in fire-resistive material selection for various project types.

This is an IN PERSON event, only. Because of the constraints inherent in touring a working fire test lab, we are unable to offer virtual attendance by Zoom. Sign up now as space is limited. This promises to be an informative look at how fire testing is accomplished.

UPDATES on the May 22 Carboline Test Lab Tour:

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: Attendees must wear hardhats and safety glasses in certain areas of the test lab. We'll have some extras if you don't own safety equipment, but we'd appreciate you bringing your own if you have them.

Available CEU's: The seminar portion of this program earns 1.0 AIA LU/HSW from Carboline, and the chapter has just been approved for an addition1.0 AIA LU/HSW for the tour portion of the program, making a total of 2.0 AIA LU/HSW.

We've been having a great response so far, so be sure to sign up early, as space will be limited. I hope to see you at the meeting, and as a thanks for bringing your own hardhat and safety glasses, I'll be bringing you your own personal copy of Michael Byrd's official Greater St. Louis CSI hardhat sticker:
