We have a unique program coming up April 17 that has special significance for me, "You're the Jury: Student Specification Projects." If you attend, you'll have a chance to review and critique architectural design projects of soon-to-be graduates from the College of Architecture at the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis. Welcome George Johannes, AIA, and six top students from his "Professional Practice" class as they present the specifications sections they think will be required to document their final design projects. Your reviews determine which will receive cash awards from the Greater St. Louis chapter's "CSI Student Development Grant."

The "CSI Student Development Grant" was initiated by the CSI College of Fellows when our chapter hosted the 2015 CSI National Convention in St. Louis. The Fellows' grant, supplemented by a matching grant from our chapter, was presented to Washington University School of Architecture in memory of Robert Johnson, FCSI, a noted specifications consultant and architect who was a graduate of the university. Previously, a portion of the grant was used to send students to other CSI national and regional events. Funds remaining from the first grant and supplemental grants through our chapter are being used to recognize the work of these outstanding students.

I've had the opportunity to teach some of the class sessions in the professional practice course with George Johannes over the years, and I've been impressed by the students' dedication, intelligent analysis of specification practice, and overall abilities. I hope you can join us on April 17 at the Masonry Institute. Doors open, as usual, at 5:30pm, and we'll start the program around 6. Bring your critical eye, and judge how well the students follow the four C's of specifying: clear, concise, correct, and complete.

Thanks to our sponsor, chapter president Drew Harris from PPG, who will be providing food and drink for us.

***Because of the unique nature of this program, it is in-person only. There will be no virtual option this month.***-
